Since last year the International Jewelry Exhibition, Yerevan Show, held by the Armenian Jewellers Association (AJA) has been held in an updated format and called “JUNWEX Yerevan Show”.

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) reports that from January to July 2018, the country’s seaports handled 73.9 million tons of cargo, down 2.5% compared to the same period last year. The main reason for the decline in freight turnover is a decrease in exports and transit. At the same time, there is an increase in transshipment of imported goods and domestic transport.
The volume of exports through Ukrainian ports has declined by two main groups of goods: grain – by 11% and iron ore – by 22.4%. As of the end of July, their share in exports through seaports was 36% and 19%, respectively.
Transshipment of export cargo amounted to 53.6 million tons, which is 7.4% less compared to the same period in 2017. At the same time, there is an increase in the export of ferrous metals – 9.3 million tons (+17.5%), of which: 5.6 million tons – rolled metal (+6.7%) and 1.8 million tons – cast iron (+58 ,5%).
Transshipment of import cargoes increased by 20.4% and amounted to almost 12.7 million tons. Non-ferrous metal ores (+22.9%), whose transshipment amounted to 4.3 million tonnes and coal – 3.1 million tonnes (+6.9%), show positive dynamics in imports .
Reduction of export of iron ore on the background of the increase in imports of non-ferrous metals and export supplies of steel products through Ukrainian ports indicates that the Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises have increased their load and the production of products with high added value.
In January-July, the processing of cargo in containers increased, reaching 454,700 thousand TEU, which is +12% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The cargo turnover of transit cargo amounted to 6.4 million tons, which is 1.4% less than a year ago.
In total, since the beginning of 2018, Ukraine’s seaports handled 6,771 vessels, which is 108 units more than in 2017.
Also from January to July 2018, more than 282,000 passengers were transported (internal – 253,673 passengers, foreign – 28,409 passengers). Most passengers used the services of water transport in the ports of Odessa and Kherson.
During the 7 months of 2018, 8,384 ship routes were made on the Dnieper River, which is 951 units or 11.3% more than in the previous year. The total volume of cargo transportation along the Dnieper was 4.145 million tons. Of these: 623,700 thousand tons of metal products (-0.4%), 951,300 thousand tons of grain (-10.8%), 32,300 thousand tons of oil products (+ 28.8%) and 2,538 tons of construction materials (+29.1%) and other cargo.
